USC v. UCLA

With signing day looming it is worth noting the schools barely recruited against each other this year. USC only offered a few players currently committed to UCLA and wide reciver Bryce Treggs, who visits USC on Thursday, is a rare recruit considering both schools near signing day.

  1. “We know within the first 10 minutes, whether they’re the type of guys that want to play here or there.” Lane F’ing Kiffin Bro…

God blessed me today when I woke up and realized that I am not a Bruin…

  2. Would the test be whether in the first 10 minutes the recruit is able to put together a comprehensible sentence?

  3. @mono, he blessed you today, but he’s damned you your entire life before today, being a trOJan fan. Just saying.

@ojheritagehall – the test is, IF THEY CAN’T put a sentense together, USC will offer them on the spot – hence the number of 5-star RBs and 5-star WRs they have, anyone with a half a brain would go to a school that they think would showcase their talent the first day they’re on the team.

  4. Check out the National Merit Scholars taking shots at USC on this blog today. ojheritagehall wrote “curiousity” a few posts back, and BruinRob writes “sentense” above. You gentlemen should proof-read your work before mocking the intelligence of a bunch of teenagers you’ve never met. Sheesh.

  5. Sound bitter bruinNob… Lol UCLA academic standards are lower the USCs so what does that say about your roster full of 2 star big school rejects?

  6. SlobDusky is back! Heard he spent a couple of hours int he Paterno “viewing” room. And boy was the Slob “spent”

  7. BlueRhino only NOBS can come in here and lie about such things like his sexuality and sexual prowess and has six figure income. UCLA lower standards than PUSC, you must be on your knees begging for a fix on Fig dude, yo mind is playing trick on you.

  8. bluerhino47 – you got something to back that up with? you couldn’t be farther from the truth.
    Notre Dame
    Stanford
    UCLA
in that order have the toughest admission standards in the nation for incoming student athletes.

    What a moron!

@Edward, I couldn’t care less about your respect.

  9. For the life of me, I can not figure out why people that did not attend a certain university routinely argue over its academics or admission standards. To what gain is there for BruinRob to have ucla’s admission standards be better or worse than another school? He didn’t attend ucla, so its a completely vapid argument that he engages.

  10. SlobDusky, you’re on crack. Standards are much higher at USC than Fucla. Anyway, how would you know? Cerritos has much different standards I’m assuming. ROFLMAO

  11. BruinNob I’m assuming your going by the USA today rating which takes price of admission into acount… Lol because the public school UCLA is cheaper they’re rated higher truth is academically USC requires a higher gpa 3.5 vs 3.3 and a higher sat score 850 vs 790. But they’re you go again assuming some ranking tells the whole story. But let’s be honest that is just for regular students… All student athletes must pass through the NCAA clearing house before they’re accepted anywhere… Student athletes everywhere must pass through there. If they’re clear there…they’re clear anywhere. That is why amazing athletes have their pick of schools and aren’t limited to where they can go…. Lol I’m assuming there not all 4.0 students with 800 sat scores. InCarlos are you seriously questioning someones sexuality with a name like “IN Carlos” god knows what that means but umm yea brotha/sista let’s keep it strictly football here.

  12. bruinwino44 – put down that pipe!! just because all you need is a 3.3 for UCLA to consider admissions for a student, it doesn’t mean you will get in – moron! The average GPA for an incoming UCLA freshman was 4.25 in 2010 (I don’t know what it was in 2011). UCLA is the toughest public university to get into in the country, but far – while at USC you don’t need a 4.25 GPA for incoming freshman, all you need is a 3.5 plus rich mommies and daddies.

When people see a car with a decal that reads “USC parent” people think of them as being rich…and when people see a decal on a car that reads “UCLA Parent” people think “wow, the must have a smart kid”. Sorry, it’s the general consensus out there, it is what it is.

BTW Bluewino, you’re full of shit, all your commentary is bogus and you have no substance to any of your asinine posts.

  13. Rob, you’re very incorrect. That is all.
    ..back to football…..
    #bruinschangingthesubject

  14. And when people see a Cerritos JC decal on BruinRob’s double-wide, they think, “wow. there must a dateless loser inside.”

  15. How does, a quick question for you…what the hell is a “double wide”? is that the size of your ass?

And I don’t date, I’ve had a steady GF for the last 16 years, she is drop dead gorgeous, and not looking for any “strange” at the moment.

And since when is a “they must be rich” comment offensive around here? especially with you arrogant usc fans? you should have your chest puffed up with my comment, not get your panties in a knott.

  16. This whole “our admission standards are higher for our athletes” argument by bRuin fans is BS. Give me a break. The fact is that schools like USC, fucla, Kal, Michigan, etc. recruit players of the same academic caliber. They’re all willing to dip as low as ~2.5 GPA to get the right athletes. I went on Scout and without naming names, these are the reported HS GPA’s of certain fucla players, that were/are on the bRuin football team:
    4* DE: 2.8
    4* S: 2.5
    4* DT: 2.6
    4* LB: 2.8
    4* OG: 2.7
    3* DT: 2.9
    4* S: 2.6
    4* CB: 2.8
As for the average GPA/SAT of incoming recruits for PAC12 schools, that may in part be related to admission standards, but it is also a function of which recruits accept your school’s scholarship offer. Just because a 5* recruit with a 2.6 GPA chooses SC over ucla, it doesn’t mean that ucla didn’t admit that student-athlete. Heck, a quick glance on the list above shows that fucla has a track record of admitting and enrolling players with 2.5-2.8 GPAs.

  17. InCarlos please stick to football

BruinNob bro, I can appreciate your a die hard bruin fan and your going to stick up for them to the death. I have a few friends who currently go to UCLA and a few who just graduated… None of them had near a 4.5 gpa..: in fact one didnt meet requirements but a personal essay got her in… Guess what? 2 of them are strippers… Lol so really stop it UCLA is a great school for academics but you make it sound like MIT. btw the argument was who had higher requirements not what they’re incoming average was. So I hope this ends the debate on academics… And gets back to football 50-0 is really the only number that matters and you guys act like it never happend… Like you can justify your team is better then ours after a 50-0 Beat down. You guys talk about everything but what happends on the feild… Right now UCLA is LAs JV team.

  18. SlobDusky, the difference is the USC parent is driving a MBZ while the bRuin partent (probably not married) drives a car like yours….a 1974 Pinto.

Strange but you include the word DEAD in describing ALL your women. ROFLMAO

  19. Lol the guy who has to over describe his relationship to a stranger usualy is the guy who dosent have one.

  20. It would be rad if my parents had a 1974 Pinto. Thing would be a classic. But no, my mom actually went to SC and she drives a….wait for it…. Toyota.

  21. They should be so lucky. I did, however, know a girl at SC who serviced Rodney Pete for a few years.

But back to that 74 Pinto. Thing would be off the charts these days. Maybe SC could give a few to its players’ girlfriends next season (Range Rovers are soooo 2 years ago).

  22. SlobDusky, NOBODY is wasting their time looking a some youtube video that’s probably one of your little Slobs or Twin Brother. Is you chick really drop DEAD gorgeous? DEAD? ROFLMAO
