  1. Can’t wait to read all the bRuin trolls’ comments! Why are they here? LOL. They seem to forget the entire history (or lack thereof) of their football program.

Mediocre on though… and fite fite fite! And don’t forget to troll on anyway…

UCLA: “Champions of the off-season made here”

Scottie – your predictions were comical the other day. Thank you. Nor for my question: You’ve made much of this “star average” thing lately to get your readers all riled up. But which would you choose – a high star rating with 15 recruits, or a slightly lower star rating with 25 recruits? For discussion purposes, compare Alabama’s likely class with SC’s.

A: Whether you sign 15 or 25, a recruiting class usually comes down to whether 4-5 players make a siginificant impact. Everyone else tends to be cannon fodder.
I’ll use my own example: Stanford’s 2008 recruiting class featured Andrew Luck, David DeCastro, Jonathan Martin, Chase Thomas and Delano Howell. It was was ranked 50th by Rivals.com.
But those five players make it one of the best recruiting classes in the nation in hindsight. So if USC chooses wisely and gets 5 impact players, it doesn’t really matter what the size of the class is. Alabama’s advantage is a greater margin for error with 25 recruits.

Bahahahahahahaha Wolf is your daddy, spud.

    Troll on though…

  3. Bruins: “No big deal, he sucks” (had they got him: “Banner a Bruin baby!!! The times they are a changin!!”

    FIGHT ON!

  4. LOL again at OTRB. First post isn’t about SUC it’s about UCLA.

And Banner’s a good get. One that was easy to call (go back and read my post when Wolfie only gave him a 70% at landing at SUC).

  5. Banner is a nice pick up our 2nd 5 star recruit but un like bruin fans were not going to over celebrate… Because were not content yet…. Still 2 more days of big signings

  6. Uhhhhhh….. sped…… I quote:

“compare Alabama’s likely class with SC’s.”

What a moron… troll on though!

  7. Come Wed pm, OTRB, take Alabama’s top 15 guys (or 14 or 13, depending on how many guys SC takes) and do a straight comparison on star average or points or whatever. I think you’ll see that SC’s class, while very good, ain’t as good as those of Bama, FSU etc.

  8. @jones: What great respect you show for USC, comparing them only with the best. Thank you, spedjones, it is so refreshing to hear the truth on this blog. USC won’t be at the top this class, but they will be fine.

  9. Sped even if they edge us out by .00012346 it dosent matter the fact we average close to a 4.0 means were still doing big things. It still means were not in danger of being irrelevant like most bruins claim… It still will not change that that we have a great group of juniors, sophomores, red shirt freshmen and 12-18 new players coming in that ate high quality to carry us beyond barkleys final season… We have 3 quality guys fighting for that job behind him to carry us forward and by the time he’s gone we’ll sign another top 5 qb to keep the tradition going. Sanctions or no sanctions it’s still USC and kids from across the nation want the opportunity to go pro and see USC as that pipeline robber them there… Phase 1 is gone and seems like were starting phase 2 of the sanctions well… The real test will be 2015… Which is too far away to even worry about 1 thing this class is taking care of for sure is that our offenssive line will be strong enough to make good players look great.

I will say though at least sped has some inkling of knowledge behind his posts although most of it is based on assumption and hope SC falls apart but all signs ate pointing towards the contrary.
