No NIT

The USC women’s basketball team lost to Washington State, 69-55, tonight at the Galen Center. And coach Michael Cooper said he would not accept an NIT bid if the Trojans do not make the NCAA Tournament.
USC (18-12) is not expected to be selected for the NCAA’s and made the NIT final last year.
“I don’t think we’re going to go that route,” Cooper said. “We went that route last year. This is a team that needs to play with the UConns and Baylors.”

  1. Michael Cooper is a big phony and needs to be replaced along with his son. Lose by 14 to an eleventh seed at home who they beat last Saturday on the road. He is a showman that has done really nothing now wants to play the top teams that he has never beaten. When he stops losing local recruits to UConn like Kaleena Lewis of Mater Dei than he might have a chance to play with the big girls. He should get on his hands and knees to be invited anywhere to continue the season.

  2. Not sure how to feel on this. Almost want to say “Yeah, a program like USC shouldn’t settle for playing in the NIT,” but clearly that’s all they were good enough for. Bruin trolls will come preach typical, true Trojan arrogance and I might agree with them here. Bad move by Coop.

  3. Ps. Read a previous post that Bruin Rob commented on where he continues to defend UCLA’s title of Pac-12 South champs, and I must ask (because all my UCLA friends are ashamed of their fball season), are you TRULY proud of “winning” a division that you didn’t really win? I mean rules are rules, yes, USC was “ineligible,” but the Trojans beat you FIFTY TO ZERO and had a record of 10-2 to UCLA’s 6-8 record (which of course became the worst in NCAA history for a bowl team). Is that not embarrassment enough to just call it a day and move on to next season? “Bowl team” Is not somethin to be proud of when you lose that bowl to an Illinois team that ended the season on a 6-game losing streak. Calling yourself champs and actually BEING PROUD OF THAT TITLE is humiliating. I guarantee the football players don’t act or feel that way–just the fans that live vicariously through them.

  4. Michael Cooper has higher standards than our drunk loser mens coach Larry David who just set a new record for futility. His record at SC is 41-55! SC lost three times in one year to a mediocre, dissension-racked fucla team. We wouldn’t accept this humiliation in any other sport.

  5. “DAMN STRAIGHT!!! MY ASS IS PRETTIER THAN [USC] CHEERLEADERS.”

  6. Bruins BB team would never deny an NIT bid. They are throwin a parade in Westwood today for their “gutty” lil boys…

SlopeSpic is the lady boy parade queen

  7. Cooper’s logic eludes me. We aren’t good enough to play with the top schools and showed it last night. Post season play of any kind is beneficial to those coming back and reward for the seniors. We are not a program good enough (under Cooper at least) to thumb our noses at the NIT…

  8. Both BB coaches need to go, it’s time to clean the school of Garrett’s pathetic lazy BB hires.

  9. This is the same program that produced the McGee twins, Cheryl Miller, Cynthia Cooper, Lisa Leslie and Tina Thompson.

Stanford’s currently the only national power in the conference. That has to change.
