When USC played basketball in the Sports Arena, the Trojans often got kicked out in December for the annual Disney On Ice show. That type of thing would change once USC got its own arena everyone said in those days.
While that might be true for basketball, men’s volleyball is another story. The No. 2-ranked Trojans played Stanford tonight in the old North Gym. It was USC’s third straight game in the North Gym in the past eight days.
Why? Because the Kids’ Choice Awards took over the Galen Center for more than a week. No one wields more power at Galen than that show. They even get Figueroa St. closed outside the arena for a few days.
But hey I’d rank Heidi Klum’s arrival at the Galen Center over any men’s volleyball game too.
