Scott – did you really think SC had a chance, any chance, to land Shabazz?

Hi Scott:

You had reported over the past months that USC was in the thick of things for Shabazz. It doesn’t appear that the Trojans ended up in his top three. Was there ever a realistic shot at getting him?

A: One of the reasons I said USC was in the mix was because I went to college with his father, Ron Holmes. And I do know his father called USC about a week before his announcement to say the Trojans were out of the running. So up until that point, USC was under consideration.

\Although Wittek was first on the “OR” depth chart despite being second alphabetically I noticed Kessler was listed as the only backup holder.

And for the record, I’m not saying this because I prefer Kessler or believe he will get the 2nd string nod as I know nothing about these individuals on or off the field.

A: I think Lane Kiffin likes Kessler as the backup holder because he is athletic and intelligent and could easily save a play if there was an errant snap.

  • USC owns the Rose Bowl

According to Muhammad, he felt the most comfortable with the UCLA staff and was intrigued by the challenge of helping to bring the Bruins BACK(?) to national prominence.
“I just think it’s a challenge,” Muhammad said. “Knowing how bad they were these last two years”

What!?!?! How “Bad” they were?!?!? I thought they were a powerhouse basketball school? Oh… NO championships since the early 90s (and none before that one since the 70s?).

Well at least now we know they’ve guaran-f’ing-teed a National Champeeenship!!!
    I predict: PAAAIINNNNN!!! (chortle)

well played, Vulfman!! you had the inside info that SHAZAAAAM snubbed Southern Cal weeks ago, but you immediately RECOGNIZED this info was “on a need to know basis” and the Nabobs on this site DIN’T NEED TO KNOW!!! so you withheld the info and allowed the Dummies make continue to make horses’ asses out of themselves by thinking they still had a chance!!!

just when i think the Vulfman has reached his prime, he takes it to whole ‘nother level!!!

Why didn’t he answer the question about Fort Wayne?

  • W.E.B. Dupree

Fort Wayne has been on the minds of a lot of people on this blog lately, and with good reason. Fort Wayne = excitement!

Did you know that the Detroit Pistons were originally the Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons, named for a local piston manufacturer?

Interesting fact about Fort Wayne. I believe that although Fort Wayne is not the most famous “city”, many folks here have serious interest about Fort Wayne’s particulars, both now and in the past.
