Memorable Performances

A couple of things to consider during two noteworthy performances over Memorial Day weekend. Wide receiver Marqise Lee jumped a personal best(25-05.5)when he qualified for the NCAA championships. And tennis player Steve Johnson battled a stress fracture in his foot during the team and singles’ competition of the NCAA championships. He will need to take 3-4 weeks off to recover after winning both titles.

  1. With the heading “Memorable Performances”, I thought this post might be Scott linking to today’s LA Times story about the porn shoot in the Coliseum.

It is odd that the paper is now making a big deal of a porn film that is apparently over 10 years old. Was it brought to their attention by someone trying to stick one more knife in whoever was on the Commission at that time? Assuming that the porn folks paid for the access, then I wonder — if it is still possible to follow the money after all these years, in whose pockets did that money end up? What a sleazy bunch of grifters and grafters.

  2. yet another black eye for Southern Cal and the Mausoleum! but to borrow the phrase from boxing: “Southern Cal ran out of black eyes ten years ago…”

and to think this place was built to honor WWI vets!! what a disgrace!!

oh, well, they can’t all be UCLA…

  3. Personally I think a porn shoot in a stadium is less repulsive than that vapid shell of a football team UCLA trots out week after week.

Though keep in mind USC had nothing to do with the choice to allow this to happen – just another reason why we deserve the master-lease.

  4. Actually the 50-0 drubbing of the Bruins was a porn flick. They showed up in virginal white uniforms and then got F&*%^# for the next four quarters. I am not sure how long the other porno lasted but UCLA’s went on far too long. The virgin was pretty much wasted by the end. Fight on!
