Garrett Resurfaces

Former USC A.D. Mike Garrett has been hired to a similar position at Langston University, an NAIA school in Oklahoma, according to a report in the Oklahoman newspaper. The school is an hour north of Oklahoma City.
The next question is how Garrett will deal with the media. Is there even any media to deal with? Should the coaches there be worried?
It shouldn’t be too long before he gives someone a dressing down in his office.

Some of you posters are real beauties… here is a man who was unafraid in standing up to those agenda-aimed morons attacking a football program, that was the envy of the whole college football scene. Especially those posters who have an AD who has done nothing but get “fat at the dinner table” and “personally destroyed” a once good football program that makes the most money for his department and you Einsteins allow him to get away with it. When some of you show more responsibility towards your own program, maybe you can throw dirt somewhere else! Real beauties!

  12. Mixed feelings about MG. Yes, in hindsight he should have handed the NCAA the jar of vaseline while grabbing his ankles, but the NCAA really had nothing linking USC to the Bush family. “Loose Ship?” Absolutely, but Reggie was long gone. I believe the courts will show the link to McNair was thin at best. The NCAA, by their rulings, has shown that schools should go ahead and try to improve by cheating, but if you get caught just be really sorry and kiss their feet.

  13. Excellent post dtksr 1. Guerrero is flat out incompetent. The two biggest revenue generating sports are in the toilet, though the BB team has had a good recruiting class but they will be one and done though. They call him “Chianti Dan” over there. USC should be real glad he is in place because he is clueless.

  14. The only media is The Langston Gazette – the student newspaper, with a circulation and advertising budget just barely exceeding that of the LA Daily News. Maybe Garrett can put in a good word for you, Scott.

  15. Trojan 70, looks like you are clueless. Football is a separate entity unto itself. USC basketball is in the toilet along with baseball for seven years now. These sports are not even one and done. Haden has shown almost nothing when it comes to dealing with coaches after getting rid of Chad Kreuter immediately appts. Cruz as interim head w/o a real search.
