Garrett Quote Of The Day

“USC 17 years ago was trying to grapple and get their school academically sound and athletically sound. Langston is in that position now. It’s a great feeling to be able to build something. Building is what I like to do. I believe in what Langston wants to do.”

Garrett should have his mouth surgically sealed. He sure knows how to alienate his supporters. What Nikias did to Garrett was beneath contempt, but Garrett gave Maxi a target.

Mike seems to miss the fact that USC had something of an athletic department when he was hired as athletic director. That may have something to do with the Heisman on his mantle.

Mike might also be reminded that academics were well established at USC and were not discovered with the hiring of Steve Sample. It is nauseating that the growth in prestige of USC under Dr. Zumberge and Dr. Hubbard’s fund raising (the two presidents during my USC experience)seemed to be things that Steve Sample needed to overcome and that USC’s apparently trifling and out-of control athletic department were “built” by Mike Garrett.

Listening to Sample and Garrett bloviate is a little like making the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay listen to Sesame Street music for days on end.

Good luck in Oklahoma, Mike. You have proven that with your mouth, you’ll need it.

Maybe Henry Bibby could become the basketball coach?

Hard to believe that Garrett’s wife who is Caucasian would move to a hick town in nowhere Oklahoma to raise the twins. This has to be a desperation move for some other reason probably to escape the wrath of Trojan fans and supporters.

I know MG’s transgressions were great, but I did not know that they were to the point of accepting a job at Langston. Sad. My how the mighty have fallen. It’s ironic that of all the people jealous of $uc, he is now amongst the greatest of those.

  • Obama is Great

Mike Garrett – 1st USC Heisman Trophy Winner. A True Trojan Great. This is how we as fans should remember and respect the man. Fight On! Mike, and best to you in the new job.

  • lbc trojan

Agree with Obama is Great. Garrett brought USC its first Heisman Trophy and should be remembered for that.

    Fight on!

And while O.J. sits in that Cell in nevada, I encourage all Torgans to remember him for the great football player he was. Let’s also try and remember Reggie Bush, O.J. Mayo, Tim Floyd, and petey for their fine contributions to LIMBO U. I say we petition Good Ole’ Limbo U to designate one home game as a day we recognize the contributions of those I already mentioned.
    Fit on Torgan!

Hopefully, the cops will look the other way in Oklahoma when his players start breaking the law!
