USC’s offered a basketball scholarship to 6-foot-10 center Trevor Stanback, a 14-year-old who will be a freshman this fall at Chaminade in West Hills.

  1. Is this not ludicrous to offer someone who has four years of high school to complete. O’Neill will not be around or any assistants except maybe Cantu. His height will mean very little by the time he is a senior when others will catch up to him ability wise. A one and done if he becomes special. Name the last top basketball player who came from Chaminade High in West Hills?

  3. Uh…let’s try something different, since all those past recruiting experiments didn’t pan out.

    -There was The “Little Romeo” recruiting strategy. That one failed.
    -Then there was Danny Hackett experiment where you BOZO’s went out and HIRED THE KIDS DAD as an assistant coach. Danny came w/a “tude” and got his jaw busted. That one FAILED.
    -Then there was the “old money in the envelope” experiment w/O.J. Yep…that one definitely FAILED.
    -Hire Big NAME Coaches strategy. Fail, Fail, Fail, and Fail.
    -The Build it and They Will come strategy (on campus facility). F-A-I-L-E-D
    Congrats…You Guys are ONE BIG FAILURE!

    How’s that “basketball school” thing going for you over at UCLA? Any national championships lately? What? Last champeeenship was in the early 90s? None before that ONE since the 70s? Ouch!!
    USC is a football school and won 6 BCS games (know what that is?) including 2 national titles and 3 consecutive Rose Bowls (know where that is?) in just the past decade… so at least they’re living up to that “REP.”
    That’s ok though, “basketball school” on!! (chortle)

I am SHAMED…How could i possibly ignore and not mention the MYTHICAL Football championships…Winning BCS games is kinda like winning a game in the NCAA Basketball tournament or winning a game in the College World series (yes/no)…FYI…Just noticed, you guys haven’t been seen there lately. Acckkkk…that’s the chocking sound that came from your TOP RANKED Men’s Vollyball team when they imploded against UCI.

  8. We can only hope Pat Haden will have hired a sober head basketball coach by the time Trevor plays for SC.
