More On That Pac-12 v. Big Ten Collapse

Just to expand on today’s news of the Pac-12 opting out of its alliance with the Big Ten, maybe Larry Scott never did his homework when he first reached the agreement. For example, what happens with USC if it has to play Ohio State. That means the Trojans could face the Buckeyes, Notre Dame and, oh, Texas in the same season.
That’s not the best way to make that four-team playoff and it’s huge payday. So Larry got to call Big Ten commish Jim Delany with the bad news. Now he can focus on important things, like getting the Pac-12 Network on DirecTV.

  1. With Directv currently in a fight with Viacom wanting to raise the cost of their 17 chanels 30%, or 3 billion, I’d say the chances of the networks hitting Directv anytime soon are nil.

  2. So Scott, the bottom line you don’t seem to want to say is that the 4 team playoff results in weaker out of conference games. We can look forward to Hawaii, Syracuse and other patsies and weak sisters to fatten the schedule and bore the college football fan to death. Sad how the networks and conferences are destroying college football in their mad pursuit of more and more TV money.

  3. scidiot: Scott plagiarized your comment from his previous post. Of course, he denies reading the comments section. Good logic by you.
