Two Commitments

USC added two more commitments when highly regarded safety Max Redfield of Mission Viejo and Class of 2014 offensive tackle Casey Tucker of Chandler, Ariz., selected the Trojans.
Redfield is ranked the fourth-best player in the nation and 37th-best player in the nation by Rivals.com.
Tucker (6-foot-5, 270 pounds) was also offered scholarships by Notre Dame, Michigan and Nebraska. He is USC’s third commitment for 2014, joining fellow offensive linemen Jordan Poland of La Jolla and Toa Lobendahn of Lakewood.

  1. gotroy – That is correct. It is assumed that the final two spots will be another DB (Hargreaves, Willis, McQuay, Goodman) and a D line prospect (Hatcher, Lawson, Calloway). Of course there is still the senior season for these athletes to play and 7 months til signing day, so things could obviously change.

  2. Possibly three, depending on what they do with Massington or if Darreus Rogers isn’t eligible. Personally, I think both will end up at USC. Since Massington did his ACL so early, he should be almost up to full speed by the ’13-’14 season. Red-shirt him, let him work with the scout team and he’ll be up for the gig once Lee is gone to the NFL. Even if he was 100% coming in to next year, he’d probably be 5th or 6th on the depth chart at best, so a red-shirt is more of a special teams hit.
