New Graphics

Fox will use a new system for the USC-Hawaii game that identify individual players and highlight their stats during the game. The above picture shows a player singled out in the new system.

Morning Buzz

New Hawaii coach Norm Chow and USC coach Lane Kiffin enjoy a professional relationship today, which is far different than when both were USC assistants. When former USC coach Pete Carroll was told in 2005 that Chow and Kiffin did not speak to each other, he said, “it’s been like that for four years.”
Both coaches glossed over that fact this week.
“ I see Lane all the time, we both live in Manhattan Beach,” Chow said.

Former Assistant News

Former USC defensive coordinator Bill Young, now in a similar position at Oklahoma State, is expected to miss the first two games of the season after undergoing an undisclosed medical procedure.
In his three years with the Cowboys, Young’s defenses produced more takeaways (108) than any team in the nation.

Rogers Update

The NCAA is still reviewing wide receiver Darreus Rogers’ transcripts and checking his core classes. That means things could drag on for another couple weeks before a final decision is made.

No Thanks, Larry

The Pac-12 told DirecTV subscribers today to switch to another service if you want to watch the Pac-12 Networks.
So give up hundreds of channels for another service just so you can get a network that barely registers a pulse at this point and has little interest unless you are a conference suck-up?
And what if you change and the Pac-12 reaches a deal with DirecTV next week? Do you make a third change? Larry Scott should relax. Letter here.
