Morning Buzz

Silas Redd, Robert Woods and Darreus Rogers were Opening Day talking points but recruiting is always a topic and Lane Kiffin was happy the Trojans already have 18 commitments.
“If we know guys are premier players, then why wait till later?” Kiffin said. ‘Everyone wants to be in this position. It’s very different for us (to be this far along). It’s like Texas always did it (with early commitments).”

  1. Texas always has a ton of talent, they just have a coach who does less with more than any other coach around. Get the top kids early and move on, nothing wrong with that.

  2. Don’t you think it would be wiser to copy a proven winner in Pete Carroll and save some spots for kids that blow up this Fall?

  3. PC was a clown at evaluating talent, he relied on Kiffin and Orgeron to get him the best players, you saw what happened when he put his son Fredo in control of recruiting, 9 RB classes and zero lineman. PC had doubts about Mike Patterson after seeing him at some high school all start game, yeah, PC was a wizard, not.

If a kid blows up and wants to go to SC, some other kid will be turned aside, that’s how the game is played
