Morning Buzz

This is the arch USC players walk through from the new McKay Center to Howard Jones Field. The inscription was ordered by USC president Max Nikias and is supposedly in Greek according to a school official.
Anyone care to translate?

This Greek president is out of control. The Trojans were Turks, not Greeks, so how about a bit of cultural and national authenticity when it comes to language used?

True that Troy was in modern Turkey, but it was definitely not Turkish.

I think a more literal translation would be, “Welcome to Earf”.

Meanwhile, Jim Mora was caught carving “Bruinz Rule, Trojnz Drool” on the side of a dumpster behind Diddy Riese.

The correct translations is: “We fight together and are victorious together.”

It is from a ancient tale about two brothers who went into battle, but only one returned. When he was asked where his brother’s body lie, the surviving brother said only, “I don’t know.” This was seen as such a shameful thing that the young men of Troy were from that time forward taught to leave no warrior on the battlefield. Hence, the American tradition of leaving no man behind.

Um, hey “Insider” … How about answering these questions instead: 1) Is Brown emerging as the most likely CB to start opposite Robey? 2) Is Harris emerging as the most likely NB/first CB off the bench? 3) Are the FR CBs, Seymour & Shelton ahead of the rest of the CB? 4) Of the two FR CBs, which is the most likely to play this year? 5) If Wiley is eligible will he be able to earn his strting job? 6) Is Wright going to start ahead of Starling or is Starling holding off the challenge? 7) Does Bowman have a chance to work his way into that mix? 8) Is Shaw outplaying McAlister? 9) How does Ruffin look at WL? How does Starr look at ML? 10) Is Burnett outplaying Bailey? 11) How does Heyward look at NT? 12) Is Tavai outplaying Townsend? 13) Is Flournoy emerging as the most likely YR/first WR off the bench? 14) Where do you see Blackwell and Agholor fitting in? 15) What’s really up with Farmer? 16) Is Tuerk emerging as the 3rd LT? 17) Where do you see Hobbi and DiPoalo fitting in? 18) How is the competition between Wittek and Kessler shaping up? 19) Has Redd moved ahead of Morgan? 20) Who is the 2nd FB?

Somehow that arch looks out of place with the pot-a-potty next to it.

NJ Trojan, i feel like it’s better to ask like, important questions. Like, “does LSU losing a starter hurt, or help it’s team?”.
