Cornerback Corner

I listed Kevon Seymour as one of the three most-impressive freshman at the end of the first week of training camp. He is now competing to be the No. 3 cornerback with Torin Harris (hamstring) currently out, Isiah Wiley no longer in the program because of academics and Brian Baucham coming back from his own academic issues.
Seymour and walk-on Ryan Dillard, who intercepted a pass yesterday, are currently the third-and-fourth corners heading into Hawaii week.

  1. If what Scott Wolf’s saying is true, then I guess RS corner Ryan Henderson isn’t really panning out, which is disappointing because apparently he’s one of the fastest guys on the team (so I’ve heard).

  2. At USC – 714: Robey is #1. Brown is #2. Harris will compete for the other starting spot when he returns. In the meantime Seymour is the NB. I don’t think Wolf is entirely accurate about the reserves though. The depth cart has Harris behind Brown & Seymour behind Robey. Henderson is listed behind Seymour & Shelton is listed behind Harris. Dillard & Baucham are listed behind Shelton. I think Kiffin wants to RS Shelton. So with Harris out the 4th CB off the bench should be Henderson. So, your starters should be Robey & Brown. Seymour will come in to play NB. after USC starts running away with it late in the 3rd Q Seymour & Henderson should be playing CB. If USC has to go deep because of injuries I would expect Dillard to get a chance. Baucham is there too & he should have a chance to work his way back up the depth chart over the next weeks.
