Former USC coach Pete Carroll approved of his disciple, Washington coach Steve Sarkisian, bringing a real tiger to practice this week, according to the Seattle Times. Somehow I can’t see another Carroll disciple, Lane Kiffin, approving of this idea.

    I’m confused. I know that Scott’s trying out some lame attempt to slam someone… but who?

    I would have assumed he was bagging on Kiffin but it almost seems like he’s giving Kiffin a half-hearted compliment.

    Is he trying to insult Sarkisian? Pete?

    What’s going on here?

    Oh, Washington is playing at LSU and facing off with its tiger, so Sark wants to acclimate his boys.

    Sounds reasonable to me.

    And why wouldn’t Kiff sign off on it. Probably because he thinks it would be more of a distraction than an advantage.

    No matter what Scott is trying to convey, UDUB is going to see 4-uncaged gorillas in the LSU front defensive line getting to Sark’s QB who might not last to the end of the game. I don’t see how the sight of a caged tiger is going to prevent that legal assault. Sorry PC…

    I do. It’s fun. Kiff and Sark are two somewhat different guys.

    Kiff-more of a coach that studies, ala Monte and Pete. But is tuned in to the young guys like Pete was. What holds him back is PH and The Greek.

    Sark-just as smart or smarter. He’s got Pete’s attitude. He’s more of a fun guy than Kiff, so I see it.

    I love both guys and BOTH would have been a great addition to USC!

    Sark knows he is in trouble going to LSU and needs any motivation he can create. Kiffin wouldn’t be concerned about playing LSU right now in the least. Harken back to 2009 when undefeated Nat’l Champion Alabama needed to block a last play FG at home to beat Kiffin’s Vols 12-10. Kiffin, Kiffin & Coach O can outcoach any SEC team and now have alot better players than they had in 2009.

    If Kiffin had pulled a stunt like this, the media would have blasted him and called him arrogant.
