What About Plan B?

Matt Barkley said after the game that Stanford took away outside passes to Robert Woods and Marqise Lee.
So why didn’t Lane Kiffin have something else in his arsenal? Or something over the middle to the 2 best wide receivers in college football?
I’m well aware of the offensive line’s performance tonight. Then use plays that take less time or exploit an aggressive defense. Like a screen pass?

Scott, when they fire Kiffen, will you please go cover PC up north, or at least go cross town and do Fucla?

LOL!!! Of course your passing game will suffer when your running game is virtually non-existent. And what kind of running game can you establish when you keep wasting downs with a horrible RB like McNeal? Of course this was a comprehensive, collective loss, but McNeal doesn’t belong to an elite college team.

there was no Plan B wolfman, because Kiff and Bounce Pass were too busy this week trying to ban you and then apologizing to everyone….the time, the effort the embarrassment and finally the distraction!!!

Both Kiffins need to go after this season. A very undisciplined team making dumb mistakes with penalties along with a Coach who recruits well, except for balancing out a roster. All those receivers who never play while the running backs are ignored. He can not lead on the field with mediocre play calling, and no half time adjustments.
Stanford had more heart, and showed much more aggressiveness for an average team talent wise. One more loss and it’s a run of the mill bowl game.

Stanford sniffed out the screen passes. For those of us at the game, it was difficult to watch. Nobody between the linemen and the backs could pick up their assignments. Blitzers were running untouched to Barkley and the DE was walking past Walker throughout the 2nd half. Shaw made some important adjustments and Kiffin kept at the same old. The unsung hero in this game was Stanford’s o-line. Whereas Barkley was getting pressured, Nunes-a subpar QB-had all the time in the world to throw. It could’ve been a lot worse if Nunes had connected on some of those many routine passes that he came up short on. And Stanford’s line also lost some key players this past year so they have lots of youth. Stanford did not look as strong as years past but USC gave them too many opportunities to stay in the game and ultimately Shaw outcoached Kiffin.

At least the hype is over! The Heisman talk and the national championship is over!

I guess we were over hyped and over rated this year.Looks like a long season ahead. Barkley should have left last season.

The game plan was more like Plan 9 From Outer Space. Just listening to Pete on 710, he said he expected us to go 14-0 and win the national title. This feels like 2007 all over again.

Plays that take less time? Barkley was getting sacked on three step drops. It was Men against Boys upfront last night.
