Glove Talk

Serra cornerback Adoree Jackson wore USC gloves in a game two weeks ago and we hear this caused consternation in the athletic dept. that it could be construed as a possible violation because the gloves are not available to the public and only given to players.
But Dave Roberts, USC’s vice president of compliance, said nothing improper occurred.
“Based on the facts as we know them, no violation took place,” Roberts said.

  1. This player is flashing some sort of gang sign. Just another low-life USC would recruit. Any team I root for would aim for better.

  2. When Colorado was put on NCAA probation in 2002, violations included letting recruits keep apparel and excessive compensation to recruits ranging from $3.20 to $36.76. Pat Haden should find out if any coaches or alumni are giving gloves out and stop it.

  3. Bill, that is just sign language for “I bet Bill is trolling USC blogs tonight.”

  4. Bill,
You should know that sign from the boys in the Public Restrooms at the Parks that you frequent.

  5. Roberts denial or “explanation” doesn’t pass the smell test.

If the gloves are given to players only, and the recruit is not a player, then there is no way that the recruit can be in possession of the gloves without a violation occurring.

If Haden & Associates want to hide behind the “based on the facts as we know them” lawyer-double speak, then they do so at their own peril.

  6. Robert Woods, Marqise Lee or George Farmer may have given those gloves since they are Serra/USC alums and were all part of that 50-0 ass whipping they gave Bill and the lowly Bruins last year. Cry in your milk, Bill.

  7. “Big Daddy” gave Roberts the ol Cadre I’ll sniff your jock test. If it don’t smell right don’t bring it to the table is Rule #23.

  8. I hope that those losers are giving those gloves away left and right! Thanks for proving the violations!

    Cheat On!

  9. Serra, the pipeline that keeps on giving. What a goldmine! And to think, the coach is a Bruin alum. FUCLA!!!

  10. If they aren’t available to the public then he shouldn’t wear them. Foolish on the kid’s part and the school’s. But what is amazing the Serra to USC pipeline.

It was my understanding that “Big Daddy”(Bucket) actually sniffed the jock and enjoyed the aroma….Well!…you know the rest of the story

  12. @Trojanfan

I have no connection to Bucket, Cadre, Yoda, the Count, Bill, etc. I don’t know who they are. Sorry.

  13. I think the point Wolf is trying to make is THOSE GLOVES ARE FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!.

  14. @ Trojanfan

notice “Big Daddy” did not refute sniffing Roberts jock??? That’s an up and ‘coming’ Cadre member. We’re all on the same page here!!!

    HAWR-HAWR!!!!!

  15. @ftfo2009: You are correct. In fact, when Scott and the Daily News decided to no longer cover practices so they could cover game injuries with impunity, Scott whipped out the gloves, and Kiffin was forced to concede the point.

  16. @Trojanfan: You answered your own question. Bill frequents this blog because everyone laughs at his… um… comments. I just hope he’s not still freaking out about about that opossum in the shed.

  17. Hey bucket,I guess that makes you the “Head Jock Sniffer”, which would also explain all the stupid comments coming from you. The sweet aroma is killing your brain cells…KEEP IT UP!!!!!

  18. @Spedjones

You might be right. Remember when Marc Tyler joked that USC pays its players, saying that Trojans make more money in school than they do in the pros? Well its definitely true in his case, he was undrafted in the NFL, then signed to the GB Packers squad, then cut last week.

  19. Oh brother!! such is the USC culture!! don’t these idiots at compliance have the common sense to warn these recruits NOT to wear them in public when giving the free gifts??? This is clearly a violation, NOT a major violation but a violation nevertheless. SMH

By this kid is WAAAAAY TO STUPID TO EVER GET INTO UCLA, I don’t care that they offered him, most likely HE WOULD NEVER qualify for admission.

  20. I kind of hope we lose him as a recruit and he plays for UCLA and gets in now lol. Was that your plan?

  21. We talkin’ bout practice? Practice? …or we talkin’ bout gloves? Much ado bout nuthin’
