USC overcame a 14-0 deficit to defeat Utah and survived one of the worst possible starts on the road.
“You don’t like them at the time, but if you can rally from that as we did and not go in the tank and not start pointing fingers and come back … those are some good things,” Lane Kiffin said.

Goatboy is always on the edge .. no wonder he has had 5 jobs in the last 10 years. That will never change.

Oh Bucket where are you. Did your Pious Passer ruin your day? Did he have the signature game you so desire? We wait patiently for your treasured responses. The other fucla idiots don’t need to say a word, they have nothing of interest to say.

  • Jethro G. Sabbath

Bucket is here. He put up the first comment. He will be avoiding certain subjects for a while though.

^ The exposure must be painful. Oh Bucket, please come forward show us how you eat shit.

A signature game? Against a team you were supposed to trounce, at least gauging from all the score predictions yesterday! Emerald Nut, here you go!!

    SuC On!

  • USC totally unimpressive, Utah is just horrendous. Nof offense, and a shitty defense. Arizona lit them up 37-7 the week before. It was funny listening to the announcers magnifying ever good thing Barkley would do, you give my grandma 10 seconds to throw the ball, and even she would find open receivers, Utah sucks.

    How old is your grandma?

If Tom Peters is still “In Search of Excellence”, tell him to watch a rerun of last night’s game on ESPN U!

Most excellent of all, I told our players to intentionally allow Utah to go up by 14, so that I could confiscate Bucket’s favorite plaything — his bogus claim that Barkley has never led a come-from-behind victory. MOST EXCELLENT INDEED!

I hear that there is a movie in theaters called “The Master” — no doubt, you will be surprised to learn that this film is NOT about ME!

    Cash Money Geniu$, haterz!

It was an exciting game to watch, except for the first 5 minutes, but man… it was a sloppy game!It should have ended 52 to 14. Still have some issues with the passing defense in locking down the recievers on the longer passes. The D-line played well. Holmes… what was wrong with him at the start of the game? He seemed to hyper-ventilate, rushing up to the line, being overly dramatic in pointing to the “D” before snapping and that didn’t help his hikes. He also messed up a few running plays running into his own teamates. Fortunately he calmed down. Liked the running of Redd and DJ had his best game, running hard. Kiffin made the remark after the game, he was pleased with the reaction of his coaching staff overcoming 14 to zip. Hey Lane… it all starts with you in how your assistants react, not the other way around.

Kiffin’s play calling last night was excellent. I was impressed. You can definitely tell that Kiffin really learned a lot from his internship under Norm Chow. After giving 14 points in the first 2 minutes, most coaches would have given up and let someone more competent call the plays. However, Kiffin showed persistence and recovered beautifully. It appears to be smooth sailing the rest of the way straight to the BCS NC match with Alabama Crimson Tide.

I was also impressed by Kiffin Senior. The Defense was “shutdown” all evening and showed true grit containing Utah’s mobile and experienced QB. Senior did not panic when Junior’s offense gave up the first 14 points. Way to show what Senior and the D is made of. The D is the backbone of this team.

  • in sheep’s clothing

wolf, can we get a repsonse from your pac12 coach “source” about kiffin’s inability to adjust? or is that a one-way street. i would love a follow-up.

@dtksr1: Spot-on dude. Barkley may have played his best game ever. Lee is just phenomenal and Woods was good. Redd & Morgan ran well, although total rushing yards was not very impressive. After those first couple of… um… “drives” USC’s OL played well. Heidari struggled and Negrete followed up a great punt in the 1st Q with a lousy punt in the 2nd Q. By my count Kiffin called 29 running plays & 31 passing plays. Overall I would have like to have seen 1 or 2 more 1st downs & more production from the running game. USC was perfect after reaching the RZ (the only time they didn’t score from inside the 20 was when they were running out clock to end the game).

McDonald led the team with 9 tackles. Pullard had 7 tackles & forced a fumble (although it was recovered by UT). Robey was the star with 7 tackles, a forced fumble & a pick 6. Breslin who recorded 5 solo tackles including 1 for loss recovered the fumble forced by Robey. And Horton had 4 tackles including 1 for loss & a sack. As a unit the D was great. Pass efficiency D could have been a better but it wasn’t bad. And they allowed UT to score from the RZ 3 out of 3 times. But they only allowed 95 yards rushing, 3 of 12 3rd down attempts & 15 1st downs.

After Holmes decided personally to go ahead & spot UT 14 points the team played well except for all those penalties, 14 for 100 yards!

  • spedjones

“Best games ever” don’t come against 2-3 Utah teams…ever.

  • NJ Trojan

@spedjones: Yes they do. Players are remembered for their performance in great games and for their overall stats. While Barkley’s not likely to be remembered for his exceptional performance against UT in 2012 his outstanding pass efficiency rating of 194.51 will count toward his season and career rating. I don’t know if he’s ever had a better performance in a single game. By the way, Bruin, your team is looking relatively good. I was sure Neuheisel was the guy but maybe it’s Mora the Younger. It would be great to see USC & UCLA dominate the P12 the way Alabama & LSU dominate the SEC. Does the Daily News have a blog for Bruins?

  • Gnossos

Hey Spud…..did you see George Farmer?????

  • Hilarious to see trOJan fans celebrate a win over a lousy team, especially when calling yourselves a superior program, even us Bruin fans didn’t celebrate our 42-14 domination of a lowly Colorado. Yes indeed, times have changed.

  • Bruin Rob is my idol

Bruin fans do not celebrate victories. They:
    conjure up conspiracy theories.
    Celebrate 6-8 season.
Petition NCAA for post season play with a losing record.
Downplay 50-0 loss to their crosstown rival.
