Mr. Wittek, meet Mr. Te’o. He’s a friend of Mr. Barr’s, and he’s looking forward to meeting you this Saturday.

great comment, Owns!! i fondly remember how Vontaize Burfict played mind games with the Pious Passer!!! ASU whipped Southern Cal 3 out of 4 yrs mostly due to Pious being petrified of Vontaize!! who can forget the Jedi Mind Trick Vontaize pulled on Pious to make him throw he ball right to him despite no trOXan within 20 yds!!!! Vontaize took it almost to the house and then helped Pious up off the ground!!!! classic!!!!

Ah, when was the last time Fucla won a NC in football? 1/2 in 1954. Oh.

You know what is sweet? Is seeing Troy man up every two years against their two oldest foes back-to-back to end the season while neither of said foes have the cojones to do likewise for the bel-airians they don’t have another ‘rival’ and for the Fighting Irish they just walk away awaiting their bowl bid.

It ain’t over ’til it’s over and it is amusing that no one, for the past 10 years has heard a word out of these two collective fan bases’ until Saturday evening. Two victories in 12 years is what the Irish used to inflict on Troy and as for the limousine liberals the best move they have made is firing their head coaches.

Insert foot in Mouth frat boy. “Guaranteeing” a win? You’d have thought he’d have learned something from your idiot injured sr. qb
They don’t call it FIG TECH for nothing!

Where did anyone guarantee a win?

      • Nemesis

On ESPN. They had an audio clip with Wittek who guaranteed USC would beat ND.

Bold. Perhaps a little foolish to provoke your opponent with such as brash statement, but gutsy call.

The Wittek era is going to be interesting…

        • TrojanFan

I heard the clip and the word guaranteed was not mentioned once

The media making something out of nothing….sounds like a typical bucket move

    • TrojanFan

You fuckin idiot, you’re the only one guaranteeing anything around here

      • http://twitter.com/davehenson Dave Henson Jr.

Don’t be mad at him. He learned to spell at UCLA.

  • CheattheSystem

Good for him. It’s nice to see someone come out with what they believe instead of the canned cliches and coach speak. If the kid is confident and thinks the Trojans are going to win, that’s already better than the Aaron Corps and Mitch Mustain games…Go Wittek! Fight On!

  • EncinitasBruin

Wittek’s actual quote from ESPN radio: “We’re going to win this ballgame.”

Gutsy kid; great player at Mater Dei. What a story line–has the makings of a classic game. Trust MB will be back for your bowl game.

I just wanted to tell you that, even though I haven’t been around here much recently to have seen many of your posts, you seem to be a real classy person, who happens to be very knowledgeable about the game of football, UNLIKE all these boneheaded rascals who are simply going nuts by the last Saturday’s game, which was only the second win by UCLA over USC in the last “14″ games!!! I certainly respect a classy Bruin like you, and I wanted to let you know that.

      • EncinitasBruin

Thanks. True fans understand. I’ve suffered through 14 years of medioctrity. I’m an ’85 grad, and my dad is a ’52 grad. Born in LA, raised in LA, always been in SoCal. Before WWII my dad played JV BB at USC, then the war came, the Navy moved all officer candidates to the UCLA campus, which took some adjusting for him (!). Fought on a battleship in the South Pacific, and returned to UCLA after the war on the GI Bill. Was a swimmer at UCLA, and was out for spring BB during Wooden’s first year. Sprained an ankle, didn’t make the team. Tomorrow at Thanksgiving my family will sit down, and around that table will be 4 UCLA grads, 3 USC grads, an Oxy grad, APU, etc. And we are FAMILY. Rules: no trash talking; no bringing up the game unless the defeated fan brings it up (been this way for 40 years). I’m of course happy that UCLA has a team that can hopefully restore the intensity and drama of this rivalry. If “the other team” doesn’t win every once in a while, it’s not a rivalry, right? Good luck against the Irish–I think it’s going to be a classic.

One of those freshman comes off the bench college football stories would be fun. Maybe he can fire up this gang of under achievers. Do they want to go to the Hunger Bowl or the New Mexico Bowl?

  • Mr Football

How nice. I give Wittek into the third quarter before Kiffen pulls the plug and turns to Kessler to win it.

Wittek has a big arm but Kessler is the one who wins game.

  • CardinalnGold

Call me crazy but I think SC has a better chance of winning w/ the Freshman.
You would think that Kiffin wouldn’t put him in position to make a critical mistake. Barkley’s pattern has been to throw 2 critical interceptions in games like these. The rest of the team will rally around him instead of playing w/
the false confidence that they can come back from early mistakes. Plus they
have nothing to lose. ND has EVERYTHING to lose and will come in over confident/ under prepared facing a back up.
