Watch Barry

San Diego Chargers assistant Joe Barry could be the frontrunner to replace Monte Kiffin. But does Barry get along with Lane Kiffin? Barry left USC last year because he did not like working with Monte Kiffin.

Did that acrimony affect his relationship with Lane? That might be the key question in determining whether Barry is the top candidate for the job.

The question here should be, does Joe Barry want to win “bad enough” he doesn’t get hung up on thinking what worked in the NFL will work in college ball and ignore the reality?
This is why finding a coach that has lots of college experience would be more desirable in getting immediate results, which is what Kiffin needs to keep his job.

how about dick bumpus from tcu, pat narduzzi from michigan state there both solid 4-3 4-2-5 dc from top 10 defenses

Joe Barry is a logical hire that already knows the team and SC culture. Chizik is solid, except for this past season, but he’s got what it takes to DC a big time program and that will help with recruting. Walker is a good coach, but I don’t see him working well with Lane K.
