i would choose dick bumpus of tcu. there 2nd in the big 12 in total defense . every team in the big 12 runs the spread except texas so every week he slowed down the best spread teams in country with less talent remeber tcu was in the mountain west now in the big 12 the home of ” spread offense”

That is one guy with a lot of experience in stopping a spread offense….he would recruit running backs and convert them into linebackers….

  • CheattheSystem

    Ellis Johnson

    Rob Ryan

    Greg Manusky

    Pepper Johnson

    Todd Bowles

    Norm Parker

    just to name a few…

HAHA, yeah, he stopped so many dual threat QB’s NOT. He’s Monte lite

Something tells me if Orgeron is content with his current role as D-line coach and recruiting coordinator, it makes sense to keep him in those capacities and go for a big name to sit in the booth upstairs as the D-coordinator. If Orgeron wants the D-coordinator position, give it to him…we can’t afford to lose his recruiting talents.

Randy Shannon…great recruiter, solid individual…I believe Orgeron coached him at Miami?

    Coach O

    Pat narduzzi or dick bumpus

  • tacotuesday

Paul Dee, the only guy who was able to completely shut down the usc offense for three years.

Randy Shannon would be my first choice, who would bring in a fresh approach to this defense.
