Another Barkley Honor

USC quarterback Matt Barkley attended the National Football Foundation’s awards dinner tonight in New York where he was named a scholar-athlete winner.

“This award means a great deal to me,” Barkley said. “To represent USC, not only on the field, but in the classroom and in your community, it’s a big part of my life. I really think the trips I’ve been able to make with my family and other people, both locally in Los Angeles and South Central, as well as across the world have allowed me to gain perspective in life.”

  1. Again, just another consolation prize. Nothing more. To think what could’ve been this season. But all in all, Barkeley is not what we thought he was.
    What a disappointment!

God speed if he makes it into a decent team in the NFL because his stock has dropped tremendously and he may eventually be a free agent with a short lived pro career.
