Why was ABC News chief investigative reporter Brian Ross at USC football practice Wednesday? He was escorted out of the Coliseum, officially because he did not have pre-practice clearance from the compliance dept. Link here

USC coach Lane Kiffin supposedly went to recruit before flying to El Paso for today’s Sun Bowl press conference. But is he also talking to defensive coordinator candidates? Kiffin is expected to talk to Oregon State’s Mark Banker, New Mexico State coach DeWayne Walker and possibly former Cal assistant Clancy Pendergast.

Meanwhile, the Trojans are holding steady as 10-point favorites over Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl.

    Don’t think any of the 3 will shut down Oregon look at the track record but then again we have better athletes so anything is possible and it will hopefully be a better system than the matador defense that was installed the past few seasons

    Could be the Todd McNair case, a story the major news outlets are starting to get interested in that as usual Scooter has been absent on, The judge has order the NCAA investigation be released to the public citing TM has proved a likelyhood of prevaling in the defamation suit.

    How ironic if DeWayne Walker, the very coach who engineered the 13-9 Bruin defensive win over the Trojans in ’06, became USC’s DC? Not gonna happen, though. Why would he want to leave an HC position to be an assistant to a worse HC than himself, at a fifth-tier Pac-12 program?
