Tailback Justin Davis is expected to sign his letter-of-intent today, which would allow him to enroll next month and compete in spring practice. Meanwhile, offensive lineman Abe Markowitz received his release and is allowed to transfer to Pac-12 schools UCLA, Utah and Washington.along with archrival Notre Dame.

  1. Good for USC. Shouldn’t noble Trojans be gracious to someone harmed by sanctions? If there were 85 spots, Markowitz would very likely have one of them.

Just from the PR point of view, if you want to recruit the best, some will fear that they won’t make it to starter. USC can tell them that if they are unhappy, they can always leave, with very few restrictions. That’s a plus, no a minus.

  2. Which school would want a #75-85 player from the Trojans? A school that does not have enough draw of its own?
If Abe cannot make it in all those years at SC, why should anyone “want/need” him?
A fair question as I see it
