Salary Checks

USA Today did its comprehensive check of assistant coaches’ salaries this week. But since USC is a private and tends to be undercounted.

Monte Kiffin was the highest-paid assistant but that was his 2010 salary, whch is undoubtedly higher today. And we hear defensive line coach Ed Orgeron also makes more than $1 million.

It is safe to say USC has the highest-paid staff in America.

Before you start speculating, get some cold hard facts

    • You never do

What are you talking about, you post with your eye’s closed

How can we when the athletic department is so opaque?

      • TrojanFan

It’s a private institution comes with the territory

    • JAG

I think ND would rival USC for highest paid coaching staffs. Aren’t they still paying the dough boy several million/year to coach Kansas?

It is painfully obvious that sc football will not markedly improve with Haden running the show. This, to the detriment of the sc football program and, by default, to that of every other sports program that depends on funding from football.

    • QueenKiff

      It’s Haden’s fault?

      • Look at the other sports. He’s killing USC athletics

        • gotroy22

At least we have water polo…

          • Oh, you mean the Gross hire? Yovan?

      • grave soul

Absolutely. It’s obvious that the kiffins are much to blame; however, Haden has been impotent and hollow as AD, sinking programs in the process and kowtowing to everyone but the fans.

At 7-5 money well spent! Notice that Sark makes about 20K more than Kiff and Mora and Rodriguez make significantly less.

  • Highest paid = worst coached team with the talent they have to work with.

    • gotroy22

That alone is reason to fire Kiffin- he’s wasting money.

That type of reputation of paying coaches very well will help get the DC we need in spite of the head coach and future play caller.

    • TrojanFan

      Yes!…I like your thinking!

“But since USC is a private and tends to be undercounted.” Huh? Shouldn’t “writers” be well educated in the English language?

“It is safe to say USC has the highest-paid staff in America.” a statement without foundation or fact For example Alabama lists +9MM inc Saban’s 4.5MM. LF makes 2.5MM are you saying the rest of the USC staff makes more then 7MM?
