Kiffin Responds To Dinnergate

USC coach Lane Kiffin addressed last night’s dinner controversy where Georgia Tech left before the Trojans and claimed it waited more than 90 minutes.

“We were 30 minutes late,” Kiffin said. “We went as fast as we could. There was no disrespect. We apologize if we offended anybody.

“(Georgia Tech) left a lot earlier than we were supposed to. They left when we showed up. I thought it was staggered. I didn’t even know we were supposed to eat together.”

  1. So the real story is, GT comes 30 min early, pigs out for an hour. Rather that sit around for another hour or so in uncomfortable banquet chairs for some possible stupid human tricks, they leave. USC comes in 30 min late, pigs out for an hour and leaves. End of story. There is plenty to not like about LK, this isn’t one Wolf. Hope you had fun playing us all for suckers.

  2. Kiffin saying he didn’t know they were supposed to eat together is an absolute lie. He’s as bad at lying as he is a clock management, which he failed at again in being late and thus sucking as a human being.

  3. Only the Sun Bowl organizers know what is true or not and I don’t see them rushing to the microphone explaining the situation. Could be some Hollywood style manipulation here to create added interest in watching this game……… you think?

  4. “I thought it was staggered. I didn’t even know we were supposed to eat together.” Muuurrppp!! (sound of lie detector going off).

  5. It’s all pretty amazing to me.

Was USC 30 minutes late, or 90 minutes late?

Did Kiffin know that the teams were to eat together?

Was no one in the USC contingent given the job of clarifying the content and time of the calendar of events, and keeping team officials informed?

Why did Williams receive no serious rebuke for tweeting a rude remark about El Paso, after Kiffin supposedly discussed the Burnett gaffe with the team? Kiffin vaguely implied that there was a freedom of speech issue involved in controlling what players say. I recall a press conference after one game when Kiffin whispered to Lee that he had been asked a trick question, and should not answer.

Does Nick Saban find himself in the middle of this nonsense? How about Chip Kelly? How about Brian Kelly? How about even Les Miles, a labeled oddball?

If I may quote Pete Carroll, what’s Kiffin’s deal? When Kiffin offered 13-YO David Sills, Sills was called the “Baby Quarterback”. Is Kiffin the “Baby Coach”, with all the polish and behaviors of a middle-school boy? Is he Rainman?

It’s pretty amazing, don’t you think, that this guy is in charge of the storied football program of the #23-rated university in the U.S.? Pretty amazing.

    • Check out SoCal Native on the Dinnergate post and you’ll see Wolf is making crap up about nothing.
