USC might win this game but the notion that the Trojans are a rejuvenated team following their regular-season spiral hardly seems valid. And Max Wittek might be struggling but is he much different than if Matt Barkley played?

yes, MB would be looking for the open receivers and being a little more patient in the passing game. Wittek is to tense.
Of course it would be different. MB is a senior QB and USC slowly became a “pass first” offense that leans on the position.
Is it really a question that there would be a difference with a redshirt freshman? I don’t give me the Hundley / Mariotta BS — their systems protect their QB and don’t ask much of them.
SC has to be a run-heavy team and play suffocating defense for a freshman QB to win. They play a pro-style offense — the training wheels come off.
