USC 71, Stanford 69

A thrilling finish at the Galen Center as Stanford guard Chasson Randle drove down the court and missed a 10-foot shot with three seconds left but Cardinal forward Dwight Powell grabbed the rebound and attempted to dunk the ball into the basket. Powell’s shot hit the rim and bounced high off the basket.

“That’s basketball and that’s life,” USC coach Kevin O’Neill said of the missed dunk.

“Once we heard the horn, there was a sigh of relief,” guard Jio Fontan added.

  1. USC basketball has got to be one of the most enigmatic sport teams of all for the last few years. They had some stunning upset wins as well as embarrassing losses against the teams they were supposed to beat easily. Now that they’ve won this game, are they going to lose to another team no one reads about in newspapers? Yes, probably. However, Kevin O’Neill obviously has done what Lane Kiffin couldn’t since he became the coach of USC football team, and that’s beating Stanford. I think Kiffin should seriously consider a pay cut to give some bonus to O’Neill. LOL!!!

      • LOL!!! At least he visited the chance to get lucky, UNLIKE our football buddy Lame Kiffin.
