A RS freshman who played the whole season, a similar effect is seen in college basketball where a team playing together for the first time is markedly better at the end of the year. That being said I think this is probably more to do with the line play than skill positions.
Norte dame seem like they could be run on, especially when they played SC and SC was able to run ball starting out accept they went away from and ofcourse the rest is history. Watch the yardage from alabama ran for 250 and pass for 250. Balanced just like pete carroll teams.

If lane called a game conventionally, USC would win more games. He tries to get to cute with play calling. Reverse on 4th down. When the running game is working, he throws three in a row.

When Alabama was under heavy sanctions 10 years ago, they stunk and it took them years to get back to the top….I think they only lost like 15 schollies TOTAL… Miami still stinks after their sanctions …i don’t think people, including myself, know how difficult the situation is..One example, Seantrel Henderson- aka # 1 player and OT in the country commited to SC but left once the sanctions hit. What ‘s been USC s biggest problem? The Tackle position on the atrocious OLine. Henderson would have helped..Everyone bashing Kiffin needs to reassess their comments and compare apples with apples..He is not Nick Saban but he is young and Talented…

That’s a bold statement to make about a great program and a 37 year old dude.
A great program? Yes, there’s no question about that. But the 37 year old dude? I honestly think we’ve seen what he is and isn’t capable of already. And I haven’t got high hopes in him no matter how blindingly positive I try to see it.. In fact, he’s the kind of guy I’d love to see on the opposite side of the field.

I’m just a Trojan fan who has been one since the mid 80s…times were worse and I’d rather have a positive outlook on a university that represents the city well.
I’m an USC alum, and needless to say, I’d LOVE to be positive about the future, just like you. However, I just don’t see a bright future to the program that has Lane Kiffin in it. He just isn’t the one who’ll put us back on top again. Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll have to suffer another maddening season with him as coach. I’m hoping the time will come to pass soon enough until we get the “real” coach, instead of a poser.
Hope Redfield has a great time with the Domers. Man was that ugly. But it does show USC how far there behind, hell we lost to that. That puts us about about 40 points behind Alabama. Is Kiffin still our head coach.
After watching the bowls, I feel Texas A&M and Alabama would of been the best match up. We need the playoffs NOW!
