Bob Cantu Reaction To UCLA Victory

“This is just a huge win, it’s UCLA,” Cantu said. “We were never going to hang our heads in the overtime. The guys hung in there. This was about the team and keeping our poise.”

  1. I love new Pauley! Makes me all TINGLY!!! So, it’s been how many years since UCLA’s last hoops title? 20 years? and none before that since the 70s? HAWR HAWR!!!

  2. This proves once again that bRUIN basketball is nothing, I mean N-O-T-H-I-N-G outside those years under Wooden, UNLIKE USC football, which has excelled for decades with many different coaches and systems. In other words, the bRUIN winning in basketball was a mere fluke because of one good coach, whereas the football tradition of USC is REAL. ‘Nuff said!!!

    • Disagree. Howland’s 3 straight final fours is crazy good. NC in late 90s is pretty good too. Doesn’t mean sh*t today, just like Pete’s success in 2003 doesn’t do anything to make 7-6 and 1 to UN any better.

    • Cantu said it best…”This is just a huge win, it’s UCLA”…..ANYTIME you get a RARE VICTORY against UCLA it’s a HUGE WIN…I get it.
Around UCLA, beating USC is just another win…..that’s the difference.
      fit on torgan!

      • LOL!!! I wouldn’t beat myself off that much if I were you, because the novelty of beating fUCLA will get much thinner from now on. Yep, that’s right. You’re truly “RUINED” now!!! LMAO!!!

  3. Charles Bucket,

Did you not say you would stop posting on this blogg if the Trojans won?

Good bye! Hope at the very absolute least you are a man of your word.

Now you have time to deal with your emotional and mental issues. Good luck to you and your family. Get well soon.

    • I do remember reading that but now I can’t find the post. Did he remove it? Haven’t seen him since. Shane, come back Shane!

        • hold on….you imagine that i make a promise to leave if we didn’t win, then accuse me of breaking that imagined promise…and you accuse me of having emotional and mental issues???

wow. i always keep my word. i have made several loser leaves town bets on this blog and have never lost because i am right 99% of the time.

the Cadre now OWNS this blog, Dummies.

  4. This game might have a second life in March when the tournament committee gets together.

  5. What’s funny about these posts is that you’re correct. What’s different about these posts is that bruins, at least this one, don’t disagree. No denial, no pretending our history makes us good today. If Trogies were as honest about their football program this board wouldn’t generate the fuss it does. What’s different about UCLA is that they’re going to fire their suck@ss coach at the the end of the season, if not sooner, whereas SUC is holding on to Lane like he actually has a clue.

    • Spedjones, I am not a USC or UCLA fan. But the UCLA basketball team is better than the USC basketball team. Just because USC beat them one time does not mean that they are the better team. I would bet that if they would play another game, the UCLA team would beat them in basketball. Likewise, the USC football team is superior to the UCLA football. I repeat one win against a good team can be a fluke. If a team beats another team on a consisting bases then someone can say that their team is better than the other. For example, Stanford has beat USC more than 2 times, so they can say that they have a better team.

      • I’ve never claimed that UCLA’s a better football program, historically, than SC. There’s no question SC’s done more. But 38-28, a better record this year and a better direction overall does in fact make UCLA the better football program today. SC’s in shambles and anyone who doesn’t see it is blind. I’m not afraid to say that UCLA basketball under Howland is a joke. He must be fired. I’m not blind to that.
