I’m not really a fan of the intense scrutiny recruiting receives 365 days a year now and I think rankings, etc., can be overrated.
But here’s the bottom line today: If USC gets significant contributions from 6-7 players, it’s a pretty good class no matter how many players signed. That’s about what happens at most good schools.
So if Su’a Cravens and Leon McQuay play safety at some point, Max Browne starts at quarterback, Kenny Bigelow starts at defensive tackle, one of the tailbacks emerges and one other player starts, such as offensive tackle Nico Falah, then it will be just about like any other class despite its small numbers.
