Kennedy Polamalu Fired

Lane Kiffin fired assistant coach Kennedy Polamalu. The move was not unexpected especially after Polamalu did not attend Wednesday night’s recruiting dinner. It seems Kiffin wants to hire an offensive coordinator and Polamalu held the title even if he did not call plays.

What is disturbing, if you are a USC fan, is that Polamalu was the only “Trojan” on the staff and an emotional leader for the team. He was valuable enough in 2010 for Kiffin to steal him from the Tennessee Titans, who immediately filed a lawsuit.

Is Kiffin now going to make a run at Jeff Tedford?

      Hire Nubsie??????With his foul mouth, obsession with”body parts”, and constant racist taunting, your impressionable young football recruits wouldn’t have a chance. Most of those guys, like Junior and Simione, already have those dreaded “CHARACTER ISSUES”. Having nubsie oversee a group of YOUNG men is QUEER and just way too SANDUSKY like. If you guys still owned the Cops, you might have gotten away with it, but in today’s world….No Way.

    I kinda saw him as a Ken Norton Jr type, a “rah-rah let’s pound them” more than a valuable skill position teacher or strategist, but I could be wrong.

    Now, a question for the fans of this blog that wrote that it wasn’t possible for Polamalu nor Orgeron (and to a lesser degree Cregg) to get fired…are you still feeling so sure about that now? As I wrote in a past post, you can add QB coach Helton to that list, according to my source. There are still rumblings that Orgeron is not a happy camper with the situation as it is.

    As I wrote in past commentary, there were bad news with more decommits and assistant coaching changes/firings coming. Haden and Kiffin held off for a while, but it came true.

    I think it’s a HUGE mistake that SC canned Polamalu. He was one of the few that fired up the team and that could coach the kids up. Why go through all the trouble of plucking him from the Titans then slapping him in the face?? I’m convinced that Puss in Boots Haden is a bonehead and that he will let this program run itself to the ground. What a disgrace.

      It was funny that posters jumped on Scott Wolf for pointing out Kennedy’s absence from the dinner. I don’t expect any apologies now. They want to hide the hemorrhaging in the football program with bandaids and only want to hear happy news.

    Polamalu was the play calling problem? Really? I blame Haden for allowing this foobar to continue. The entire reign of Kiffin has been a disaster. His reign as OC culminated in the loss to Texas. The stats were meaningless. His coaching has been one problem after another. He aint the 2nd coming of Pete. Time to start fresh…

    Oh my god, Coach Kiffin sucks BIG TIME. Why dismiss one of he best coaches and recruiter on staff? What the heck is he thinking? The only item more surprising would be P. Haden giving Kiffin an extension. This move makes no sense whatsoever. If he is thinking about bringing in Tedford as his OC that is fine, but then who the heck is going to coach our RBs. I don’t recall a time when this program was in so much trouble. I know Hackett made some dumb moves but nothing like this.

    I can’t wait for another sub .500 season so Kiffin can leave and Haden (unless he screws it up) hires a new coach.
