Wide receiver Robert Woods was impressive in his drills at the NFL combine this morning and made plenty of catches to remind everyone why he was so highly regarded a year ago.
Woods ran the 40 in 4.44 seconds unofficially, which later officially became 4.51.

Of course he is. If he came back, he’d have either a true freshman QB or Max Wittek throwing to him.
I’m surprised Wolf has yet to mention the fact that many teams have “red-flagged” Jarvis Jones for that neck injury he suffered while at USC. Scott and many others have been critical of USC’s medical staff for not clearing him but some teams are shying away from him after having looked at his spinal stenosis issue. It’s been said before–this isn’t black and white. Different doctors can look at the same thing and come to different conclusions.
An excellent post. USC might have erred with Jones, but with all of the concern about football injuries, isn’t it refreshing to see a team err of the side f caution? The fact that USC has been criticized for this decision, when a young men’s health is at stake (and with a neck condition, the stakes are even higher) is a sign of some seriously mistaken priorities of many both in the press as well as the fan base.
Which teams? This board likes to bash Wolf for his lack of sources, so step it up.

Wrong. If he was willing to play for free any team in the NFL would take him in a heartbeat. All they are doing is determining whether he’s worth a first round pick or not. He’s an investment, nothing more, and some investors are more cautious than others.
Well the University’s own attorneys, armed with quite a bit of knowledge about liability law and also having access to e ducal reports, didn’t clear him. But you, who logs into Scott Wolf’s blog, claims to know more than they did. I mean, it’s such a tough call to decide which is the more credible source. But I do jobs thus: what interest des it serve USC not to clear him? They obviously wanted to play him. If they made a mistake, it was on the side of caution dealing with a player’s health. It’s one the University can, and should, he happy to live with.
Yet Georgia was happy to clear him and it worked out fine. So again, Wolfie 1, you 0.

Kudos to Woods, especially after getting b-slapped and disrespected by Kiff all season long. I think the kid will make a solid special sitch receiver in the No Fun League and he could potentially become a valuable special teams player.
