Wittek Sits Out Scrimmage

Quarterback Max Wittek injured his knee during practice today and did not participate in the scrimmage portion. His injury is not considered serious. Cody Kessler completed 12 of 15 for 192 yards while Max Browne was 2 for 7 for 48 yards with a touchdown.

    • I suspect that Kiffin is more concerned with a successful season than with anything else. He lacks the wiggle room to bench the QB most likely to get W’s. Kiffin has his own real babies to feed.

    • Fair question, although he completed 80% of his passes, so he couldn’t have been too wild. Some detail and analysis would go a long way.

Supposedly, the offense sputtered while the defense excelled. Yet the 1st team QB netted 13 yards per attempt. I read elsewhere that Browne (2nd team) threw a second, long, catchableTD pass that was dropped by Rogers. It doesn’t sound like a triumphant day against the pass for the defense, but you might think otherwise from the stories. I guess the running game was stymied.
