Home, Not-So Sweet Home

The USC men’s volleyball team upset No. 3-ranked Pepperdine tonight at the Lyon Center. Why wasn’t the game at the Galen Center? Because since last week USC’s been kicked out of its own arena for the Kids’ Choice Awards.

It’s deja vu for those who remember when the basketball team used to get kicked out of the Sports Arena every year for Disney On Ice. That problem would be solved when USC got its own arena, the conventional wisdom went in those days.

  1. Care to report how much USC was paid to host the event and where the money is likely to be spent? Or is that too much context for a troll post, Scott?

    • Exactly, which is a bigger draw? Does the money go to the Athletic dept or general fund or somewhere else? USC is a private institution not on the public dole like UCLA and needs to generate it’s own revenue. If no one goes to a Thursday night volleyball game anyway why have it a Galen?

      • Plus it is scheduled during spring break, so the impact that awards show has on the students is quite minimal. It’s likely this one men’s volleyball game was the only event affected.

      • seems like nobody goes to any so cal events anyway(s). May as well shut down that maximum security facility
        fit on women punchers!

        • We’re no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I
          A full commitment’s what I’m thinking of
You wouldn’t get this from any other guy
I just wanna tell you how I’m feeling
          Gotta make you understand

          CHORUS
          Never gonna give you up,
          Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
          Never gonna make you cry,
          Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

We’ve known each other for so long
Your heart’s been aching but you’re too shy to say it
Inside we both know what’s been going on
We know the game and we’re gonna play it
And if you ask me how I’m feeling
Don’t tell me you’re too blind to see (CHORUS)

          CHORUS
          (Ooh give you up)
          (Ooh give you up)
(Ooh) never gonna give, never gonna give
          (give you up)
(Ooh) never gonna give, never gonna give
          (give you up)

We’ve known each other for so long
Your heart’s been aching but you’re too shy to say it
Inside we both know what’s been going on
We know the game and we’re gonna play it (TO FRONT)

    • Wow, looks like Wolf just took a humiliating kick to his crotch.
      Isn’t that right, Chuck?
