Max Wittek Returns To Practice

Wittek said he would practice better Thursday after getting rid of the rust from not practicing for several weeks.

A Question About Ben Howland

Since he seems to be interested in the USC job, is it a fair question to ask if it matters that he often comes across as difficult to deal with? And I’m not talking about the media but quite a few people in the UCLA athletic dept. dreaded dealing with him.

Should that be a factor in hiring a coach? Or does it only matter if he wins? This is something for Pat Haden to consider, especially as he works to soften Lane Kiffin’s image.

USC Morning Buzz

Spring football returns today and we will see how many of the injured Trojans practice. Qaurterback Max Wittek is expected back and so is wide receiver Marqise Lee, who is experiencing a low-key spring compared to last year when he split time between football and track.

Lee’s spent nearly all his time with football this spring and it will be interesting to see if he goes to any track meets next month like he did last April.

Meanwhile, Mater Dei third baseman Ryan McMahon, who signed with USC, hit two home runs and drove in seven runs in three games last week.
