Cody Kessler Pleased With Deep Touchdown Passes

Sophomore quarterback Cody Kessler said he is pleased to be completing deep touchdown passes this spring, especially because he knows some doubt his arm strength.

“People always say, `Kessler can’t make the deep throws,’ ” he said. “I’ve heard since I’ve been here. Or `Kessler’s arm isn’t strong enough.’ Obviously I hear it.

“I feel I’ve done that well,” he said. “You’ve got to let the ball go 60-65 yards or you won’t hit Marqise Lee.”

  1. Mighty impressive indeed….tossing T.D. passes against a secondary made up of a couple of guys nicknamed “TOAST”…It’s gonna be a long season…Any bets on when Goat boy gets the hook?
5 & 8…..and Goat Boy ends up with a 500 record OVER ALL as head coach

    • Mr. Madison, what you have just said, is the most insanely idiotic thing I have ever heard. At no point, in your rambling incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

    • WHY WHY WHY!……It’s the SAME shlt we get from you over and over, just a different pile today

  2. To me, the real questions are: (1) who can observe the defense before the snap and quickly know, on the play that was called, which WR will be likely to achieve separation; (2) who can quickly get set to throw, quickly confirm his pre-snap observation, or find the checkdown alternative; and (3) who can then throw the ball up to 40 yards, and place it within a couple of feet of where it should be thrown to the intended WR target?

To me, if one guy does those three things better than the others, he should start.

I saw video of Agholor making a one-handed catch down the center of the field. Everyone focused on Agholor’s great skills (with justification). The first thing I noticed about the play was a badly placed pass. And the pass didn’t travel nearly 65 yards. A gun is useless if you can’t aim it.

  3. Kessler has no chance. Didn’t go to Mater Dei, doesn’t have a private QB coach, and most important, isn’t liked by Lanie, kid should transfer ASAP.

  4. If the season goes south under Wittek, something tells me Kessler gets a chance, rallies the team and saves Kiffin’s job. He seems to have a lot of moxie, it’s nice that he can scramble, and he never complains. That last part puts him 3 pegs above us Trojan fans, about 10 pegs above Scott Wolf, and…well just drive that peg through the empty brain cavities of the likes of Bucket, Thai, sped and betomas (if those are all actually different people).
