Where Will USC Be Ranked?

Now that spring practice is over, where would you rank USC? Does the secondary impact the rankings significantly? Or having a first-year quarterback? Pat Haden told Sports Illustrated recently he expected two losses in 2012. How many does he expect this year?
USC should be ranked in the 20-25 range. Is that enough to save Lane Kiffin?

  1. Who can forget 7-6 (5-4 in conference)? UN-believable, UN-acceptable, but if Haden thought last years team would only lose 2 games, he’s in for a BIG surprise. Last years team was CLEARLY superior to this years squad at every position.
5 & 8….it ain’t gonna be great, but in all honesty, it will probably be worse than that. Forget about records, it’s really all about the date Goat Boy puts that House up for sale in Hermosa and moves back to Fresno. Let’s see if Haden can pull the trigger early or makes RAH RAH’S suffer thru the entire season with the cross eyed mumbling fool Goat Boy.
    fit on Torgans!

    • Please get the head checked out. You keep repeating the same thing over and over. There is something seriously wrong with you’

Get a life, you’re nothing but a pathetic piece of shlt

  2. Hopefully 25, if they start in the top 25. I like when USC is overlooked 🙂

  3. The higher the ranking the higher the pressure on Kiffin to keep his job which means even more deer in the headlights looks.

  4. Preseason rankings seem largely based on the previous season. 7-6, no starting QB, no depth. If USC is in the top 25 it is only out of respect for past accomplishments. Kiffin has to gel as a HC or he is gone.

  5. If this year’s team is ranked anywhere in the top 25, it is because of respect of the program. The players & coaches last season lacked & were lenient on discipline. There was too much skill on that team to end up with the record it did.

The theme this year should be something like “composure & execution” on both sides of the ball. This team cannot afford fumbles & picks. And it can’t allow cheap scores. I don’t see this team’s makeup with the ability to come from behind (again?) Kiffin has got to get rid of his “scheme-for-the-big-play” playcalling. It would be a worse disaster if he tried it again this year with a new QB. The defense has some players up front if they don’t get hurt and we can only hope it executes enough to control the line of scrimmage more. But the backfield appears to be suspect. So much so everyone might find themselves holding their breath everytime the opponent’s QB throws a medium to deep pass.
I may be wrong on this but this is definitely a rebuilding year, so hold onto your jewels (yeah that too)….

  6. Either this team has depth problems and coaching issues or it doesn’t; Scotty “writes” on these issues daily, but says they are a Top 20 team. There was no indication from last year to suggest this team is on the rise, much less a Top 25 team. All these issues suggest a slow start and better play towards the end of the season, but not necessarily great play, not the qualities of a Top 25 team. Why be consistent when you can be Scott Wolf?
