USC Morning Buzz

Matt Barkley might have slipped in the draft but he is a constant topic in NFL circles since he was selected by the Eagles.

“I was really surprised with that pick for (the Eagles), just because of the quarterbacks that are there,” Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger told Philadelphia radio station 94WIP. “You see coach Kelly’s offense, and what you see, to me it’s like that’s not what Matt Barkley is. So I was kind of confused with what they’re doing.”

Roethlisberger said, “either he is going to be behind the eight ball or he’s going to be ahead of the curve, if they change the offense a little.”

The Steelers QB said Barkley “reminded me a lot of a guy like Drew Brees. A guy that just stands in the pocket and will make all of the throws.”

  1. Right, Big Ben, the Pious Passer CAN make all the throws…..so long as there is absolutely no pass pressure, he has the best receivers in the league AND his team is NOT behind in the 4th Qtr…..but under those perfect conditions, he is UNSTOPPABLE!!!!

    thanks for the GUMBALL, wolfman!!!!

    • Ben Roethlisberger v Chuckle Bucket. Who knows more about what it takes to be an NFL QB? Sorry Chuckles, if I’d like to know how to troll an Internet board and show an unhealthy obsession with a football player, I’ll ask you. On Barkley’s NFL future, Big Ben knows a little more than you.

      • And yet, we haven’t heard what “team” picked up Kevin Prince, Richard Brehaut, or any other UCLA QB for the past decade.

I think the last I heard, Prince was going into Real Estate. It’s a shame because skippy ruined him with installing the pistol offense.

  2. Way to cover the same sh*t again..
We all know how you feel about Matt Barkley, and we all agree with the draft pick by the Eagles, but do we have to continue to go over it day after day?
Please lets move on to new stories!
