  1. wolfman, you CONTINUE to ignore a crucial element: an asst coach who was very close to Caesar had his fingerprints ALL OVER the Bush scandal…(see pages 25-27 of NCAA report dated 6-10-13…as you know i keep a tabbed copy handy)!!!
    and i quote:

“yet another example of the Asst Coache’s LACK OF CREDIBILITY was his statement regarding the events of 10-29-05…..(he) made three phone calls to the agency Partner…..” i could go ON and ON!!!

not to mention the sheer VOLUME of illicit bnft taken by Bush was in the HUNDRED$ of THOUSAND$!!!!

wolfman, you KNOW i love you like a brother, but you are seeing this thru your trOXan goggles!!!!

    i forgive you, man.

    • So you are suggesting that these assorted penalties and punishments issued by the NCAA “fit the crime”?…..and that they are being consistent with the penalties uniformly dispersed to the offending universities?

      • ugh, you MISS THE POINT!!!

which is, Southern Cal’s TRANSGRESSIONS were far worse than ANY of the schools in question!

and it’s not ever close!!! cars, cash, travel, a big house, all orchestrated by the Asst Head Football coach!!!!

i am still miffed they did not get the death penalty, so quit yer crying already!!

        • “Southern Cal’s TRANSGRESSIONS were far worse than ANY of the schools in question!”…… do you honestly believe that?………University of Miami?…..you don’t suppose that Mike Garrrett’s arrogance and Pat Haden’s passiveness had anything to do the severity of sanctions which were handed down by the NCAA?……Death Penalty?…..surely, you jest?……and I’m certainly not crying…..just trying to have a civilized discussion, that’s all….

          • If Mike was still here, he wouldn’t be sitting on his @$$ like the current AD.

          • Mr. Blow…. I am not 100% certain that the current AD really is sitting on his hands, as you state…What could he have done differently with the NCAA, under the circumstances?…the lack of success in the Big 3 men’s sports is frustrating, to be sure ..but he certainly seems to be higher profile and more accessible, and media friendly, than his predecessor….I realize I am in the minority, but I am not quite ready to write him off just yet………

          • TH, in all seriousness, we need an Athletic Director, not a glad hander. I’ll take a surly old AD any day over Mr. Happy, if we are winning, which we WERE. Hate to say it, but our athletic department as a whole is going downward. You can’t name one sport that has done “better”. The programs that won this year were already on top.

          • well take Ohio State or Oregon, both small potatoes compared to Bush’s looting. what’d they do, trade a crummy jersey for some tatoos? pay some guy to break down film?

Reggie’s offenses turned him into a professional!! this case was a slam dunk. and having OJ taking cash at the same time din’t help. its that, and the link with the “asst coach” McNair lying to the commission. in all seriousness, these distinction is huge!

now that we gotta decent QB, i WANT southern Cal to field a top 10 team! i remember Aikman dueling Peete, Marniovich vs Tommy Gun Maddox, Pious Passer vs Hundley!! that is good for everyone!!!

          • While I think we can all agree that a competitive rivalry is a good thing, and I, too, share fond memories of the QB battles that you referenced (I attended during the Paul McDonald vs Tom Ramsey era), you still didn’t answer my question…..do you (C-Buck) think that the punishment USC received fit the crime?…..And, since you brought it up, did it really warranty the Death Penalty?…..and, finally, you deftly avoided any mention of the University of Miami’s TRANSGRESSIONS …..Wolfman was also questioning the obvious INCONSISTENCY of the penalties levied by the NCAA since the USC sanctions were implemented…..Capisce????

          • Why does anyone even bother having a logical discussion with this Charlie Bucket assclown? I bet that not even he himself believes half of the BS he posts. He’s funny some of the time but he’s obviosly just a tool here for comic relief. Good job Charlie Bucket, you do make me chuckle every now and then!

          • Bucket believes Mel Farr is a Hall of Fame wide receiver. He rarely ever gets his facts straight.

          • Jezro, he was a consensus All American and came in 7th in Heisman voting (despite playing with Beban)…he was a two time NFL all pro and sang back up on Marvin Gaye’s What’s Goin’ On.

and he IN FACT in the Hall of Fame….the UCLA HOF!!!

possibly the most underrated player of the 60’s!!!

Jezro, you, of all people, who has studied my body of work more than anyone, should know that if C-Buck says it, you can take it to the BANK!! and that’s the name of THAT tune!!!

          • Bucket,

It is because I have studied your work that I can count on the fact that half-thruths and flat out fabrications form the foundations of your posts.
This Farr fiasco is just the latest example.

          • he Walllin Conjecture. now the Farr Fiasco. Jezro, you never fail to amaze!

          • Exactly, In no way was Fred going to let his name be associated with the nonsense that you put on here under a dozen different names and took appropriate action.
Come to think of it, nobody on earth would rightly want to be linked to your obsessive ways.

          • “a dozen different names”….”nobody on Earth”…today’s word is: Hyperbole!!!

in fact, if there was a Superbowl for Hyperbole, your team would be favored!!!

          • So you’re saying that making wild exaggerations can make a person look foolish?

          • yes i am gay because i like Marvin Gaye. amazingly, you have now sunk to T-fail status. I know He’s not a trOXan, are you another non-trOXan who is here just to make real trOXans look bad?

and where is the answer of why you think eating bagels is an insult? a trOXan suggested to me it’s a vague anti-Semitic comment because Jews eat bagels???? are you gonna man up and admit it? why so scared? you are the one who brought it up out of the blue, why did you cower so rapidly??

and now here come 3-4 more gay/penis comments from T-Fail (same with any comment i make). beyond queer.

          • The wheels completely fell off during the BCS era. It’s too bad you couldn’t field a competitive product

          • Quiet, TFAil…NO ONE cares what you’ve got to say about this…or anything, really.

          • Is that similar to Sam G giving “extra” benefits to the fucla players under Woodie? The players themselves have ADMITED it.

    • When confronted with the phone records, McNair reasoned that Bush was probablyhosting a recruit that night, Bush had given him an alternate number to call as Bush’s cell phone battery was dying, and McNair called that number (which was Lake’s) trying to reach Bush to check up on the status of Bush and the recruit. The NCAA enforcement staff immediately dismissed McNair’s explanation.
At the interview, the NCAA staff said they were confident that Bush was not hosting a prospect that night. After the interview, records were reviewed and it was determined that McNair was right that Bush was in fact hosting arecruit that night (Harvin). It also turns out that McNair had reason to be hounding Bush because Bush was neglecting his hosting duties. Instead of entertaining Harvin, a top
prospect, Bush was out with his family and friends (including Lake) while Harvin sat waiting in his hotel room. Bush didn’t pick up Harvin until around midnight.McNair’s story is consistent with the phone records and Harvin’s testimony. Roughly: McNair makes calls to Bush and Harvin and learns that Bush has failed to pick up Harvin. McNair talks to Bush at 11:07pm, at which time Bush possibly gives McNair an alternate number to call because Bush’s phone battery is dying. McNair calls the number twice, failing to reach Bush. He tries Bush’s phone and then immediately tries the alternate number again at 11:56pm. At this point, Bush has finally picked up Harvin and the phone calls cease (Harvin testified that Bush picked him up
from the hotel around midnight). The NCAA’s version of events is less consistent with the phone records and Harvin’s testimony. The NCAA believes McNair was calling Lake to meet up with Lake and Bush and that the calls stopped at 11:56pm when McNair finally met up with Bush, Lake, and Harvin at the club. However, Harvin testified
that he did not recall seeing McNair at the club(s). Further,
Harvin testified that Bush did not pick him up from the hotel until around midnight, making it unlikely that Bush could be at the club at 11:56pm, the time of the last call.

      • Apparently, these crucial details were omitted from Bucket’s “edited” version of his “tabbed copy” of the report…….

      • the commitee also blew up McNair cover story. he claimed he was traveling with another Person, but his phone records did not corroborate any calls to that person untill days AFTER the alleged meeting!!!

i maintain, if McNair is not involved, the trOXans don’t get anywhere NEAR the sanctions they got. he also denied ever meeting lake, (but of course they had pictures of them together) C’MON!!!!!

        • So why were the NCAA lawyers so adamant about having the court seal the records in the McNair case? Their legal argued that records in the case should not be unsealed, saying it would hurt future investigations. This was right before their Miami stuff got exposed, and we all know how that went.

  2. I believe its the arrogance of then coach Carroll and AD. Smug arrogant (he has nothing to be arrogant about) Kiffin didn’t didn’t help. It’s simple! Southern Cal in the eyes of the world was a “PUNK” and Kiffin is perpetuating the the notion. In other words Southern Cal was punished worse then other schools because stuck up attitude that the leadership exudes.

    • I would agree totally, and Haden seems to be trying to change that. He inherited Kiffin and either Kiffin gets it together or he will be out. All the penalties for SC football will be over in a year, so let’s all move on. I hate July, football can’t get here soon enough!

    • Sure, so arrogance gives the NCAA and the “world” the right to make moral and legal decisions. If that were the case, the jails would be FULL of bRuins.

        • You are correct. But to continue sitting on our @$$e$ like we have is absurd. Haden is concerned about his persona than the program. It’s obvious.

  3. Why do you guys sit on this site and defend USC to Charlie Bucket? Rarely does he state the facts, and rarely does he have anything entertaining to say.. Just ignore the guy and lets move on..
