Before USC hired Central Florida coach Caryl Smith-Gilbert, we hear the job was turned down by coaches from Florida, TCU and Kentucky. And Smith-Gilbert turned down an offer from Clemson to accept the USC job.

UPDATED: A USC spokesperson said the job was never offered to anyone else other than Smith-Gilbert.
