USC swimmer Vladimir Morozov set a World University Games record to win the gold medal for Russia in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 47.62 seconds.
USC tennis player Sabrina Santamaria reached the semifinals of the World University Games with a 7-6 (2), 6-2 win over Germany’s Laura Siegemund. USC’s Ray Sarmiento suffered a 6-3, 7-6 loss to Madagascar’s Antso Rakotondramanga in the men’s quarterfinals.
