Former USC WR Robert Woods is already getting reps with the first team during the Buffalo Bills’ training camp. And he drew high praise from Bills QB Kevin Kolb.
“Stud. I mean, legitimately a stud,” said Kolb. “I’ve bragged on him a lot in the last two days and really through camp. I mean, what I see from him, I’ve been with some really good rookie receivers. I mean some really good ones.
“DeSean (Jackson) came on the scene really fast in Philly and a number of other guys and I’m really impressed with the way that (Woods) approaches it. The kid can run better than I think everybody gives him credit for and his approach to the game for a rookie and a high draft pick, he’s really got an open mind and wants to learn and a ‘my bad’ type of guy, which is the kind you want out there playing for you.”
Too bad Kiffin alienated Woods by using him as a decoy last year.
And Woods suffered greatly for it, too….NOT!
Dropping to a second round pick isn’t suffering? Kiffin cost him millions.
I suppose if you were to look at things selfishly, and with the benefit hindsight, one couldn’t argue with you…..I guess Marquis Lee is the benefactor of Woods’ suffering, using your logic?…..
Using anyone’s logic. We had the opportunity last year to have a prolific offense with two fantastic wideouts in Marquis and Robert. There was room for both to thrive. But instead Kiffin fixated on Marquis to the detriment of the team, as the opposition learned to key on Marquis. Kiffin was too stubborn to stop throwing the majority of passes to him. Watch tape of the fucla game. The ruins knew we would throw to Marquis which contributed to the interception on the first play from scrimmage and the 1st quarter meltdown.
Hey, please believe me when I say I was as disappointed in last season as the next Trojan fan….My expectations were a heck of a lot higher than a 7-6 season….I will grant you that the predictability of our offense was a huge handicap….but, IMO, I think that depriving Woods of his stats did little to drop him into the 2nd round..I would like to believe that the NFL GM’s use the combine and the Pro Days to do a more personal and thorough scrubbing of a players true potential, and not solely rely on stats, which can be system driven ……Say, let me ask you a question, if you don’t mind….I noticed that you post on numerous other sites and, after reading your entertaining comments, I must say that I share most of your political positions, especially your anti-lib stance….Question #1 – Are you a USC fan? I can’t tell from any of your recent comments… It is clear you are anti-Kiffin……Question #2 – Why are you following me as a poster?…..I don’t mind that you do, but I really don’t have much to say that would be of interest, other than my usual rah-rah mumbo jumbo….
That sounds like me…
I like to follow all my fellow SC fans on this site. Just because we disagree occasionally on the coaching or AD decisions doesn’t mean we all don’t want SC to enjoy success.
Fair enough….. I can live with that…. FIGHT ON!
