USC Baseball Gets A Commitment

USC baseball received a commitment from Austin Russ, a junior-to-be first baseman from Hart High School in Newhall. Russ (6-3, 190) is considered a player with potential after hitting .254 with one home run and 12 RBI last season. He enjoyed a good summer, which drew interest from colleges.

  1. Russ will be drafted and he will go to the minors as so many USC recruits have in the past 10-15 years. The problem has not been recruiting, it has been keeping the recruits we do get. Colleges cannot compete with an offer of legitimate cash $100K and up plus school that so many clubs are giving kids out of high school. Common sense there.
