Pac-12 Network analyst Rick Neuheisel dropped a bit of a bomb Tuesday when he said he had a “hunch” freshman Max Browne would start at quarterback because of the quality snaps Browne is getting during training camp.
I would say Browne is clearly No. 3 right now (as he should be at this stage of his career) and I’ve said if Browne started it would be later in the season. But maybe Neuheisel knows something as a former coach and being privy to meetings with Pac-12 coaches.

I don’t know what would make CRN think this. Of course, I’m not a former NCAA coach, but when I’ve seen Browne at practice, there are often times where he’s doing a drill on the far field (with backups) while Kessler and Wittek are working with the studs (Lee, Angolar, Blackwell, etc).
I have to actually agree with Scott (Bucket) on this one!
