In case anyone thought Cody Kessler’s gaudy scrimmage numbers might lead to him being named the starting quarterback, it did not happen. Lane Kiffin said the scrimmage was thrown out of whack because of the No. 1 defense’s domination of the offense in the first half.
“Yesterday’s numbers got screwed up,” he said. “Cody had a series go 15 plays and Max had four three-and-outs.”
Asked again if he could possibly go into the Hawaii game ready to use two quarterbacks, Kiffin said, “Never says never.”
“Never says never.” Who says it like that? Did Kiff actually says it like that or is Wolf messing around?
