Freshman Linebacker Quinton Powell Makes Sudden Jump

Linebacker Quinton Powell really played more like a defensive end in high school but the past two days is starting to shine at weakside linebacker.

“Powell made a move in the scrimmage and today,” Lane Kiffin said after practice.

Powell said he starting to feel more comfortable after a couple weeks of training camp.

“It was very overwhelming and stressful (initially),” Powell said. “Now I just do what they tell me and make plays.”

Am I the only one concerned about throwing players into action at a position they have never played?

I think it can be hit or miss. I’m not sure I trust Kiff’s judgement completely to make the right moves.

Unlike RATM, Quinten Powell didn’t say “F you, I won’t do what you tell me!!”
