USC Minus 21 Players At Today’s Practice

Lane Kiffin said 21 players were unable to practice in any form, which is one of the highest numbers of training camp.

“I think the massive amounts of people not practicing, those are big numbers,” Kiffin said. “You have some unfamiliar names practicing with the first and second units. But we’re physical though.”

Among those out are defensive end Morgan Breslin, offensive lineman Aundrey Walker and all three tight ends (Xavier Grimble, Randall Telfer, Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick).

Kiffin said he is not sure if Silas Redd (knee) will be ready for the Hawaii game.

  1. The physical play in pre-season, even though it causes injuries, will pay dividends on the field during the games. USC has to get back to its core… playing physical football. Especially if the defense winds up being on the field more often than it should due to the playcaller’s mis-management of a game. Who said it was more important to be a headcoach than it is being a playcaller?

  2. Did anyone vomit?……. #UCLA LB Anthony Barr left practice early tonight with what looked like a head injury. Appeared to vomit on the sidelines
