Wouldn’t in be *decreased* his odds?

  • Stu Azole

He won’t be back to normal until mid-October. He has no QB to throw him the ball. His O-Line is average, at best. In other words, his chances are nil.

    • David Keeling

Until a QB can consistently throw a good timing long pass to Lee, Lee needs to get open underneath the coverage like a cut into the middle and then run. Kiffin didn’t call any short passes to RBs at Hawaii, so maybe even this isn’t in the cards for Lee???

Seriously… How about a screen to Madden or Davis every once in a while.

    • gotroy22

Did we recruit Jameis Winston? He’s going to win the Heisman.

    • TrojanFan

      Wow!…now you have inside sources.

    • UCLA Owns the Rose Bowl

The chances of Lee getting the Heisman with Kess-Tik chucking the rock are as strong as SC earning a BCS bowl bid. Next to zero.

      • TrojanFan

The chances of Hundley getting the Heisman are as strong as UCLA earning a BCS bowl bid. Next to zero.

        • UCLA Owns the Rose Bowl

Fair enough. Now, if Hundley were throwing to Lee, both of their chances would sky-rocket….

Wash St are talking smack about Lee. Here’s some bulletin board stuff from LA Times:
“Washington State cornerback Daquawn Brown is a
talkative 5-11, 170-pound freshman who played at Dorsey High. Teammates hinted that he would be confidently animated if matched up against Lee, the Biletnikoff Award winner.
“I expect frustration from Marqise Lee because [Brown] is going to be in his face,” linebacker Darryl Monroe said.
Linebacker Justin Sagote said he feels bad for Lee because Brown “doesn’t fear anybody.”
Lee is going to smoke these guys!

Sounds like they have quite a few talkative dudes on their team. Let’s hope USC plays well and shuts these kids up.

Hope, that’s 100% of the Toejam’s game plan.

Someone is lost…in 2011! Glory days haha.

          • UCLA Owns the Rose Bowl

2011? They weren’t eligible for a BCS bid that year due to sanctions, so you’d actually have to go back to 2008, the last time SC played in a BCS bowl. Six. Long. Years. Ago.

            I love this quote:

“UCLA’s disheartening dismantling at the hands of USC, the most lopsided score in the crosstown rivalry since USC’s 52-0 win in 1930, leaves the Bruins emotionally battered and psychologically bruised.”

            Nice find!

          • UCLA Owns the Rose Bowl

Looks like the bruises and battering have turned Trojan now:

“While UCLA spends much of August sweating at training camp in steamy San Bernardino, the Trojans are back in the city they share, trying to get back on top. News of the Bruins’ stellar recruiting class and preseason poll dominance are greeted with stony silence by USC players.”

“Whenever I go down the street at USC this year, it’s different,” Trojans linebacker Hayes Pullard said. “How can I say it nicely? Everybody wants to see us bounce back from (losing to UCLA). We’re still going to have that feeling in the back of our heads all year. We’ve got to use it as fuel to keep this train moving.”

UCLA is in USC’s head now, according to Pullard. Battered and bruised in all shades of cardinal and gold.

  • How many gamblers come to this board for odds? I can’t wait till Scotty Boy starts catering to the vampire and hooker crowd in addition to the local gamblers

Compiling a list of Heisman candidates before 80 percent of the games have been played – ridiculous. Assigning odds to a player winning – moronic. Writing stories about said topics – utterly foolish.

Here we go teaching Wolf basic math AGAIN!

Two weeks ago, Lee’s odds were 25:1 (4%), this week it is 33:1 (3%). Yet, Wolf write the odds “increased”. If you don’t understand odds, you sure as heck shouldn’t be reporting on them!

    What a dope!

    • UCLA Owns the Rose Bowl

Actually, Wolf is correct: if odds drop, or decrease, it means an improving probability. If odds rise, or increase, it means worsening probability. While Lee’s CHANCES to win the Heisman decreased, his odds increased. Come on over to UCLA if you’d like a refresher in YOUR math skills. Sheesh.
